The two stone angels were nestled in the overgrown herb garden at my father's, house, Daisy's Wood, Gates Mills, OH when he and my step-mother, 1960's Glamour Editor-in-Chief, Kathleen Aston bought the house.  The garden was created for Ms. Katherine C. White, as a backdrop for her African Art Gallery.  In the early 1970's Ms. White, who was among the first to build an important American collection of African art, wood the house to my parents.  Kathleen created a stunning living room in the gallery and kept the overgrown stone-walled herb garden with its guardian angels as they found it.  When my parents died, I swept up the angels and brought them to Lake Forest.
